Why, hello there!

Okay, so I haven't really updated this since.... well three years ago... But now I have more free time, so I thought I'd start it up again. Because I have sooooo many interesting things to say...
This week Greg and I decided to do something crazy and go to the Indianapolis Home Show during the week instead of the weekend with everyone else. It turned out to be a way better idea that we first realized as we wandered down the aisles, not having to avoid people with hoards of children or people in hoverounds, etc. I highly recommend it. In fact, we made it through the entire Home Show house in about 7 minutes. (Note the lack of people in the corrals.)Now that we've gotten settled in to the new place, we are ready to start on some overhauls to make the place more our own. In particular, we would like to update the bathrooms and basement and to do some heavy duty revamping of the garage.

Generally, I would say that we were underwhelmed by the Home Show house. There was this weird 1920's America theme going on on the lower level that was not my favorite. However, I did like some of the color schemes. The stairs leading to the top floor were modern-looking (white, with dark wood steps) and are definitely a look we want to repeat at some point in time at our house. Greg liked the idea, but wasn't too excited about it. Maybe because duplicating this look would require removing tons of cheap carpet and refinishing the banister and floors. One day!

The favorite, by far, was the master bathroom. Our current master bath is very roomy and has a garden tub - YAY - but needs some updating. For one thing, the shower is about 3 foot by 3 foot. So what I've gained in tub, I've lost in shower. Also, actually shutting the door to the shower is tough. Most days it sticks open about a half an inch... You can imagine what this leads too. Yuck. Anyway, the Home Show house delivered on the master bath. This is exactly what I have in mind... hopefully we can get started sooner that later. :) :) :)

Last but not least, to some of us, was the garage. Here we found some really elegant looking garage storage carts. These things were so nice they could practically have double as kitchen islands. We will probably have to save up for those, but may move forward on epoxy floor soon.

So, ta-da, that's what we've been up to this year so far! The Super Bowl is here in Indy next weekend, so we plan on going down to check that out. Will be a once in a lifetime experience, for sure!

Pics moved -- share yours with us!

I've created a Shutterfly website where all of the wedding pictures now live. Also, I talked with a couple of people about sharing photos that some of the guests took at the wedding... Feel free to upload yours to our site so that we can see the great shots you got.

Reception time changed and confirmed!

Finally, finally, finally we have a confirmed time for both the ceremony and reception.

Originally the reception was going to start at 7 PM, but we were able to get it moved up a bit to 6 PM. This will work much better with the 3:30 PM ceremony time.

Huge relief.

Yay! I'm really started to get excited about all of this. I cannot wait to have a full weekend with all of our closest friends and family. It's going to be awesome! :)

Top 5 Reasons to RSVP Online at ShelleyandGreg.com

We're excited to announce that, since you've received a Save the Date, you can now RSVP at ShelleyandGreg.com to let us know if you can make it. Besides being incredibly efficient, there are several other reasons why you should do this. :D

5. Invitations are made of paper, which is made from trees. One invitation kills approximately .25 tree(s)*, not including postage.

4. Including postage murders an additional .25 tree(s)** per invitation.

3. As a web developer, Shelley was forced to sign a convenant stating that she would make every effort to carry out every task in her life via the Information Super Highway.**

2. The paper saved by RSVP-ing online can be used to make a paper Chuck Norris, which is both asthetically pleasing and functional.

1. The most important thing to us is that all of our family, friends, and people who have helped us along the way are there to share the day with us. RSVP-ing online will help us save money. Oh, yeah, and trees.

Save the Dates en route

Finally, finally, finally these are in the mail and headed your way!

I had no idea how much work sending these would entail. It's hard to nail down addresses, spellings and etiquette. [Does this sound like a disclaimer? Good. It is.]

So, if something's wrong on the label, let me know. :)

I'm sure most people don't care, but I'm sometimes I'm randomly a little on the detail-oriented side.
